Coffee Is a Need: Favorite Coffee Shops in NYC

For this week’s blog I decided to show some of my favorite coffee shops that I’ve discovered in NYC so far. I have love for coffee and visually pleasing cafes, so I try to go to as many places as I can and take nice pictures of the space and offering.

Sweatshop

Sweatshop, located in Williamsburg, ticked off all boxes for me. The mix of Scandinavian and Australian aesthetic grabbed my attention and defiantly made me want to stop by. They are using Counter Culture coffee beans, which I really enjoyed. In addition to a flat white, I also got an acai bowl. Although the space was small, it was a really nice area to grab a drink/small bite and work on your laptop or read a book. They also had free newspapers and were selling their merchandise, such as t-shirts and hard goods.

Coffee Project NY

Coffee Project New York, located in East Village, offers a whole coffee experience. It’s not about the cafe, the main focus is on the coffee. Above it’s pictured a “deconstructed latte” which is one of their specialty drinks. It consists of an espresso shot, milk (pasteurized at a lower temperature) and a latte. This helps you to single out every flavor. Although the coffee shop itself is very small, it’s worth for the coffee.

Seven Point Espresso

Seven Point Espresso, located in Prospect Heights, I discovered when I went to the Brooklyn Museum, for the Frida Kahlo exhibit. Wanted to have a quick coffee stop before the visit and I came across this Australian coffee shop. It had a beautiful atmosphere, with the baristas being from Australia themselves, and being very nice. The coffee tasting great was a big plus as well.

Hope you enjoyed todays blog! Make sure to leave a comment letting me know what you think, if you check out any of these places.

Love,

Artak

  1. I was not a coffee drinker until I came to college. My roommate just loves it. These three places look like the perfect place for us to go try. We usually attempt to go around the city and find cute good coffee places like these, so I’ll definitely add them to our list!

  2. I only started drinking coffee after entering college because NYC has some of the best coffee locations. Every location I have been to for coffee has been aesthetically pleasing and had great coffee! Ever since I started drinking coffee, I look for places that sell good coffee. I will definitely be checking these places out!
